Please do remember that we have no 9:30 Eucharist tomorrow morning (Sunday, March 9th) due to all of the Irish (and Irish Wannabes) who will be parading on Sunday. Now, please, no hate mail from the AOH… Any reason to party is as good as any other … 🙂
At this evening’s Eucharist, I’ll also be blessing a chasuble and stole gifted to me by the Marcellino family. Within some faith communities, there is a tradition of presenting Eucharistic Vestments to the family of a deceased, in lieu of flowers. That tradition continues with the subsequent gifting of those vestments, by the family, to a priest for his use in celebrating the Sacred Mysteries. I have been richly blessed by the Marcellino family as the recipient of a red chasuble and stole gifted to them at the time of the death of their brother, Joseph. These vestments will be blessed this evening, and used for the first time at the celebration of the Holy Eucharist on Palm Sunday (April 13th). Please do join us for the blessing of these vestments at our 6:30 Eucharist this evening.
For those of you who are planning to attend our 8:00 Eucharist tomorrow morning, please don’t forget to re-set your clocks at 2:00 a.m. tomorrow. Otherwise, you’ll be arriving as the rest of us are departing. And, no fair cheating by setting those clocks ahead before you retire tonight. Daylight Time begins at 2:00 a.m. and not a second earlier, nor later… 🙂
Have a great one, folks!! Whilst the crew is drinking green beer tomorrow, I shall be safely at home, preparing a Bacon Explosion in the smoker and sipping an Angry Orchard Hard Cider while concurrently working on income taxes. Even elderly, thoroughly Deitsch, guys get to enjoy a drink … 🙂
